Top Tips For Burning Fat

Posted on 08 April 2016

We all have a little excess fat here and there that we want to get rid of but blasting it is not always easy! Here are a few simple tips for you to make small changes that will allow you to feel the difference.

Drink Green tea- Ditch the sugary hot milky drinks, all those frappuccino mocha choco-lattes throughout the day and switch to green tea, this will not only help you burn fat and lose weight but you may find you have more money in the bank at the end of the month! If you drink green tea 3 times a day at regular intervals this will improve your metabolism and help you to burn calories. Its alto relatively calorie free so you are not putting extra calories in your body and can rely on the calories from your food. Try drinking before eating your meal.

Walk- Are you guilty of jumping in your car everywhere, even the shortest distances? Try leaving the car at home and walking more. This method of exercise will help burn fat as it gets your body into the fat burning zone as its moderate and consistent as a form of cardio. Try and walk for half an hour a day and see the difference!

Drink warm water with lemon and honey- When you wake up in the morning drink a glass of lukewarm water with a slice of lemon and a dash of honey. This will kick start your system in the mornings and the honey is really good for circulating fats within the body.

Eat Slowly- It takes time for your brain to send signals to your body that it is full so rushing through your food make you eat more than you need. Chew each mouthful slowly and savour your food. This will help you control the volume that you eat which in turn will make you less prone to bingeing.

Sleep- This is the time of day when our body makes all of its repairs, make sure you are getting enough quality sleep (8 hours a night) this will not only make you feel rested but will also ensure that your metabolism is working correctly.

Eat more often- Rather than eating 3 large meals a day, break this down into 6 smaller meals. Think of your body as a furnace, the more fuel you keep putting into it the harder it works to burn it. If you rely on 3 big meals the fire is almost out before you put the next batch of fuel in and it's harder to reignite than if you keep topping up throughout the day.

Cut out processed foods- These type of foods are high in trans fats, sugars and salt. Think of it like this, if it didn't grow, swim or walk then it's not that good for you! Try and eat as naturally as you can, these foods are designed to be consumed, our bodies are not designed to be pumped for of chemicals and artificial sweeteners and flavourings etc so its hard for us to process them, which will result in you having extra pounds.

Always take the stairs- We all rely on the lifts but taking the stairs will burn extra calories!

Drink More Water- When your body is dehydrated it can mistake thirst for hunger. This will have you reaching for snacks instead of water to try and fill yourself up. Fill yourself with water, at least, 8 glasses a day and not only will you eat less but you will look more healthy as it does wonders for your skin!

Lift weights- Ladies don't be afraid to lift weights, it's not going to make you bulky, in fact, it's actually really hard to build muscle mass as a female. What it does do though is give you sexy curves as it shapes your body but also muscle burns fat so the more you have and the more you work it the longer it burns fat for after a workout. So many women slog away for hours on a treadmill when lifting weights will help burn more fat.

Cut out Alcohol- Alcohol is full of sugars which if not used correctly turn into fat. Alcohol is full of empty calories with no real nutritional benefit so you can double your calorie intake on a night out with just a few glasses of wine. Alcohol also dehydrates your body which will lead to that feeling of hunger and make you want to eat more. If you are going to drink try and limit yourself to special occasions and take care over how much you are consuming.
